MEET INFORMATION FOR COACHES
- We will be using flyovers for all preliminary events other than backstroke for 9and ups.
- 6 & unders will be expected to swim 100% legal strokes 100% of the time.
- Relay substitutions will not be submitted to the desk this year. The coach of the relay team with a substitution will fill out a relay card(included in the coaches’ packet) listing the names of the updated relay swimmers [all four] clearly marking order of swimming. The leadoff relay swimmer will hand the relay card to the head lane timer as the relay walks up to the blocks, prior to the start of the race. This is the same as last year}.
- Relays in the clerk- All 8 & unders come in with a coach (any coach, specific badge not required at this point), coach will stay with relay in clerk and walk swimmers to opposite end of the pool.
- New starting rule for 2025: Any swimmer starting before the starting signal is given shall be disqualified if the Referee independently observes and confirms the Starter’s observation that a violation occurred. Swimmers remaining on the starting blocks shall be relived from their starting positions with the ‘stand up’ command and may step off the blocks. The swimmer who has started before the starting signal is given shall be permitted to participate in the race and shall be disqualified upon completion of the race.
MEET PROGRAM
We will not be selling programs. A digital file will be available on our website, free of charge for each of the sessions. There will be updated files prior to the finals each day.
TECHNICAL SWIMSUITS
- We will be following the FINRA-approved swimsuits for the 13 and over swimmers that have been in place for many years.
- For 12 and under swimmers the Woodlands Invitational is following the USA Swimming guidelines that are being followed by the Contra Costa Championship meet. If you have question, please check the link from USA swimming.
TEAM AREAS
- Maps will be posted following meet entry submissions (after seeing team sizes).
- There will also be signs posted at the entry and in the areas with team names. As most of you are aware, we become close “neighbors” over the weekend, so please be sure that you do not encroach upon another team’s area without permission and avoid moving someone else’s property. It is sometimes difficult to ascertain where your area begins and ends, please contact one of the directors to help sort out any misunderstandings.
- Please bring changing tents for your team areas if you have them; there is no changing in the bathroom stalls.
SPECTATOR VIEWING:
- There will be a combination of Bleachers and Standing Room Only areas around the pool deck. These areas are for viewing only and not for tent set up.
PARKING:
- We all know how crazy the parking can be at Invitational. We have a loading and unloading zone in front of the pool. To help with traffic flow, we ask that drivers enter via Conifer Lane and exit Dogwood Drive for drop off.
- There will be no RV parking in front of the pool; this is to ensure the comfort and safety of the teams sitting immediately outside the club.
- Please drive slowly on these streets, we have seen extremely close calls and we do not want to see anyone hurt.
- No parking in the Citrus Walk condominium development next to the club.
