My name is Heidi McMillan! I love coaching Woodlands! My sister, Heather Maddox, and I grew up on Scottsdale Swim Team with our mom as director. They were some of the best summers of my life filled with great memories, too much chlorine, crazy rituals and life long friendships. I have a love for County Rec Swimming and what it teaches our kids, both in and out of the water. I swam at Scottsdale until age 12 and then at Walnut Creek Aquabears until I left for College. I attended Brigham Young University where I swam for 4 years, both before and after a mission. I have been a coach for over 20 years with both rec and USS experience. I have coached at very different rec teams. Some small, some large, some very competitive and some just starting out. I started at Antioch Delta Skimmers, then went to Valley Vista, Dana Hills and most recently Discovery Bay River Otters. The most rewarding part of coaching is seeing kids gain confidence and feel good about themselves as athletes and individuals. Upon graduating college, I became a full time coach with Walnut Creek Aquabears. I enjoy coaching all age groups and feel incredibly lucky to have worked alongside and be mentored by incredible coaches and people.
Hi Woodlands! I grew up swimming at Valley Vista and Ygnacio Wood, then swam in high school, college, and now masters. I have coached at Ygnacio Wood, Northgate, Aquatech and now Woodlands! I have a passion for swimming and athletics and love being able to share that with others through coaching. I try to always make whatever I do fun for those around me, but I'm also serious about instilling proper technique, working hard, and making the most of out each practice. I am excited to be back at Woodlands and the strong community WST has built. See you all at the pool!
Hi WST! I am excited to return to Woodlands for a third year of coaching. I grew up swimming, finishing my rec career at Woodlands for the final 5 years, and graduated from Northgate in 2025. I am currently attending Oregon State, majoring in Biology/Pre-Med, and enjoy playing club waterpolo in my free time. I look forward to cheering everyone on and having a great season. Go Woodlands!
Hi WST! I’ve been swimming for 12 years, all on Woodlands! I’ve coached Kermits and I am excited to be a Coach again this year! I enjoy volunteering in the community, playing water polo and swimming at Northgate. During the season I love competing and racing as a team. I can’t wait for another great summer to cheer on the team! Go Woodlands!
Hi Woodlands! I am so excited to coach this summer, I grew up swimming and will be a junior at Northgate in the fall. I love the spirit of rec swimming and bring the hype to every practice and meet! Hi Woodlands! I’ve been swimming for ten years, all on Woodlands. As well as swimming in the summer, I play tennis and swim for Northgate. I love Woodlands because I am able to have fun while still competing. This year as a coach I am looking forward to spending time with all the kids and cheering everyone on!
Hi WST! I’m 16 years old and this is going to be my 6th year on Woodlands! I also swam for 6 years before, at another swim team before joining WST. Outside of swim, I also play water polo and soccer at Northgate. I’m really looking forward to this summer to spend time with friends, cheering everyone on, and helping make it a great season for Woodlands. I can’t wait for a fun season with the team!
